Steel Challenge Competition – REPORT

On Sunday 20th October 2024, we organized a Steel Challenge Competition with great success!

Fourteen competitors turned out on Sunday afternoon at Victoria range to shoot 5 stages of the AACTS annual  Steel challenge competition, including “5 to Go”, “Roundabout”, “Showdown”, “Accelerator” and “Pendulum”. Each stage consisted of 5-6 steel plates set up at various distances and in different configurations all of which need to be shot as fast as possible. It’s a test of pistol draw speed, trigger control and hand to eye movement coordination, with every competitor having 5 turns at each stage and then their  best 4 times are added up . Then over the course of the afternoon the competitors with the shortest times will win the event.

Congratulations goes to the winners . For the Iron site division, first prize was taken by Mark Scerri, 2^nd prize by Reuben Buttigieg and 3^rd prize by Paul Busuttil. For the Red Dot sight division, first prize was taken by Steve Vella, 2^nd prize by Cedric Camilleri and 3^rd prize by Chris Saliba

Also special thanks to Godfrey Pisani for providing all of the targets and to the IPSC shooters who provided scoring tablets, timers and who helped run the whole event.
