AACTS annual Marksmanship Training Camp and Competition at the Enna Shooting Club in Sicily, 14-17 November 2024

This year’s AACTS event was held successfully at the Enna Shooting Club with all of the 19 competitors able to stay together under one roof at the Agriturismo Dolci Tentazioni some 500 m from the range. The objective of the event was to start to encourage AACTS members to begin to develop their target shooting skills in order to shoot at steel plates out to a maximum of 700 m at this event, depending upon the different firearms used.

The main focus was on bolt-action full-bore rifle and semi-automatic rifle, shooting at plates of different sizes spaced evenly out at 100 m intervals. AACTS staff were able to set up the range and test out the plates on Thursday, 14 November but the ground was soggy and only passable in a 4×4. The weather subsequently held up well and every attendee was able to shoot 2 x 1-hour slots from shooting benches or prone, on both the Friday and the Saturday, finishing with 2 competitions on the Sunday morning before wrapping up for a late lunch back at the Agriturismo. We will run a similar event again late in 2025.

All attendees would like to thank Sport Malta for their generous Financial Assistance grant, which will be shared by the competitors who took part in the 2 Competitions, to help cover each competitors personal costs of attending the event.

Prizes were awarded by the AACTS President Joseph Gatt, on the 11th December 2024 at the AACTS clubhouse as follows:
